The initial idea was to have a $7000.00 Memorial Day Fireworks display at Lake Pueblo State Park. Kevin Sarni planned to donate the first $1000.00 in fireworks. Upon pursuing the effort, several other costs surfaced. The wholesale value of the fireworks is now about $2100.00. Other permit fees, fireworks transportation costs, insurance and marketing now amount to about $1750.00. The project cannot proceed without some sponsorship from the local community. The current project status, site preparation plan and pledge request form are in a draft format and located at http://www.salutetoveterans.org/fantasy_nights. These documents are in a continuous state of change, but should provide insight into the approach.  Once the plans are finalized they will be marked as final as opposed to draft.

The general concept is to have a massive balloon launch at about 7:30 PM on the day of the event. The plan is to have individuals purchase the balloons from local businesses for a $10.00 donation . We also hope to find a few local businesses willing to pledge sponsorship from $100.00 to $500.00 We also hope to have radio sponsorship as well. The balloons will be released upon the launch of a volley of very loud firework shells at about 7:30 PM. This will be the signal for all the folks with a balloon to release them.

The balloon release will be followed at about 9:00 PM with a fireworks display of about 750 shells.
